WE ARE ACCREDITED TO WORK ON ALL MAJOR BOILER MANUFACTURERS

HOW MUCH IS A BOILER SERVICE IN ABERDEEN?

Our standard boiler service is £69.30 +VAT. No call-out fees. No per-hour charges. No surprise add-ons. Just a fixed price for a proper, thorough job.

Regular customers on our annual servicing plan pay £60 +VAT - our loyalty rate for households who keep their boiler maintained year on year. We send a reminder when you're due, so you don't have to think about it.

What's included in our boiler service

A boiler service is more than a quick visual inspection. To meet manufacturer warranty requirements and the standards expected of a Gas Safe engineer, every service we carry out includes:

  • Visual inspection of the boiler, flue, controls, and surrounding pipework
  • Removal of the boiler casing to inspect internal components
  • Combustion analysis using calibrated flue gas analysers to verify that the boiler is burning fuel cleanly and efficiently
  • Gas pressure and flow check to confirm the appliance is receiving the correct supply
  • Gas tightness test on the property's gas installation
  • Inspection of seals and components, including the heat exchanger, burner, and ignition leads
  • Check of safety devices - flame supervision, overheat protection, and pressure relief
  • Condensate trap inspection and cleaning (a common cause of winter breakdowns in Aberdeen)
  • System pressure check and top-up if required
  • Magnetic system filter check if one is fitted, with a clean recommendation if needed
  • Functional test with the boiler running at full load and hot water demand
  • Service record completed in your boiler benchbook, plus a digital copy emailed for your records

If we find a fault, we'll tell you on the spot, provide a written quote, and carry out any additional work only with your approval.

Why regular boiler servicing matters

An annual service is the single cheapest insurance against winter breakdowns. In Aberdeen, where cold snaps regularly drop below zero, and demand on heating systems is high, a poorly maintained boiler is far more likely to fail at the worst possible moment. Beyond reliability, there are three concrete reasons to keep your service up to date:

  1. Manufacturer warranty. Worcester Bosch, Ideal, Vaillant and Viessmann all require evidence of annual servicing by a Gas Safe registered engineer to honour their 5-12 year warranties. Miss a year, and you risk voiding the cover.
  2. Energy efficiency. A boiler running with a partially blocked heat exchanger or incorrect gas pressure can use noticeably more fuel, costing you more on every bill until it's corrected.
  3. Safety. Gas appliances produce carbon monoxide. A service includes flue and combustion checks that catch issues long before they become dangerous.

What to expect on the day

We work in a four-hour slot window. Most services take 45–60 minutes. Our engineer will:

  1. Arrive within the agreed window, in a marked Kelgas van, ID visible.
  2. Lay down protective sheeting and shoe covers where required so your home stays clean.
  3. Carry out the service, talking you through anything notable.
  4. Complete your benchbook and email a digital service record.
  5. Receive the invoice and make payment by bank transfer.
